An Evening for Moms with Jennifer Phelan and Sarah Harmon to honor Maternal Mental Health
Research shows that as many as 1 in 5 new mothers struggle with mental illness. And it's important to note - these are pre-pandemic statistics! As we know, the pandemic involved long periods of isolation, lack of support and significant stress for women navigating one of the hardest roles and jobs there is - becoming and being a mom. Pre-pandemic or post, perinatal (conception to one year of birth) mental health illnesses frequently go unnoticed and untreated. World Maternal Mental Health Day highlights the importance of mental health concerns for mothers and families, as well as the options available for treatment and healing.
Join Jennifer Phelan, award winning Pilates instructor and studio owner and Sarah Harmon, therapist, mindfulness/yoga teacher and founder of The School of MOM and the Postpartum Wellness Group in their first collaboration class for a special evening FOR moms to benefit maternal mental health.
This class is all about the amazing Boston Mom community coming together to support and connect with each other through presence, movement and guided rest. Jennifer will lead us through an energy lifting Pilates Fusion class and Sarah will bring it DOWN to help moms access much needed deep rest. Suggested donation of $25* with all proceeds to go towards: Postpartum Support International - Massachusetts chapter.
While there are limited in-person spots, we are thrilled to announce that virtual attendance is available with a 24 hour link to the class replay.
*This is a suggested donation. If you have a financial hardship but need this class, please email amy@somayogacenter.com for a complimentary ticket.
