Emily Lovdahl

Emily believes that building strength, mobility, resilience, and connection within your body is a practice of optimism and hope.

She believes that coming back to yourself again and again through your movement practice says that you’re expecting some of your best days are ahead of you, they’re worth being your best self for, and you can find joy in the journey there.

Emily is a comprehensively certified STOTT PILATES instructor as well as a Licensed GYROKINESIS Trainer. As a full time Pilates instructor for over three years, she is passionate about helping students and clients develop a sustainable, joyful, invigorating and effective movement practice that serves them well beyond the studio. Whether through teaching 1:1 sessions using the full range of Pilates apparatus, leading group Pilates classes, or guiding students through flowing, energy-based GYROKINESIS sequences, Emily’s classes are inviting, accessible, and succinctly yet creatively guided. You can expect her classes to include sequences that isolate before integrating, clear cueing around breath patterns and muscle recruitment, and a well rounded workout delivered via the STOTT PILATES principles and repertoire.

From an early age Emily has been fascinated by the body in motion, leading her to an eight year long career as a professional ballet dancer which was complimented by six years of teaching ballet to students of all ages. Since retiring from her performing career, Emily has found immense value and fulfillment in guiding others through movement that emphasizes function, joy, and self-discovery. She is grateful for the trainers and teachers who have guided her, as well as her students who inspire her and push her to continue learning. When not in the studio, you can find her hiking, cycling, skiing, sewing, or creating stained glass art.
